A new entrant to the sports pub scene in Palm Coast is Houligan’s, situated in front
of the Home Depot off the Palm Coast Parkway.
It opened in May 2008 and is attracting a lot of interest from the local neighborhood.
Part of its appeal comes from the 38 large television sets, 20 National Trivia Network
game boxes and the sound dogs it offers. A sound dog is a sound box that can be
brought to any table so a diner can tune into whatever television program he wants
to hear.
“We have a diverse clientele,” said Scott Smith, managing partner of Houligan’s
Palm Coast. “During the day local businesses come for lunch and at night there are
a lot of families for dinner.” Every day there is happy hour from 4-7pm and hospitality
night is from 9pm until midnight.
Houligan’s kitchen is open seven days a week until 11pm on weekdays and until midnight
at the weekends. Its signature dishes of Wally Wings – grilled buffalo wings – and
St. Louis Pork Ribs are the most popular items on the menu. At the sports bar, customers
can eat cheese sticks, reubens and burgers and in the dining room there are quality
dinner entrees like 12oz sirloin steaks, fried and grilled shrimp and pasta dishes.
“Whatever food you want, you can get,” Scott said.
Already spanning 5,900 square feet, Houligan’s is making more space by building
a covered patio with televisions. The Palm Coast location is the
third Houligan’s sports pub in Florida. The original is on State Road 40 in Ormond Beach and
the second is off U.S. Highway 1 in Destination Daytona.
